What we have been working on

It’s been ages since our last post. Here’s what we’ve been working on in all that time:
Soon we will resume progress on the Crusher. Until then, buy some baby clothes. ![]()
A month since our last post
December 11, 2007 no comments
We’ve been busy, so I haven’t had anytime to write. A lot has happened in the month since our last post. Here are some of the highlights:
Maiden voyage:
We took the Crusher on its maiden voyage. This was definitely worthy of its own post, but for the sake of saving time, I’m just squeezing it in here.
It was just a quick weekend trip. We went to the Sand Dunes. Dave bought a 4-wheeler and wanted to try it out. The Crusher is far from done, but we stuck a couch in there and brought a bunch of pillows, cushions, sleeping bags and blankets. We managed to sleep 4 people comfortably. The fridge we bought works. And we proved our insulation job to be more than effective. We bought a small heater. We only had to turn it on for a few minutes and the place was roasting.
As he so often does, Dave ended up hurting himself. He got in an accident on the 4-wheeler. He dislocated his shoulder. While he’s healing, construction on the truck has been temporarily put on hold.
Spending the weekend actually staying in the Crusher made me more excited than ever to finish it.

Company updates:
Business wise, we’ve been busy. We are preparing to launch a new e-commerce store. We’re just days away from its launch. We were hoping to get it going December 1st so we could catch some of the Christmas shoppers, but we ran in to a few snags. I’ll post the link to the store once it is live.
We have also started our own line of clothing we will be selling on the site. We’ve been busy designing graphics, buying merchandise and screen printing like crazy. Once we get this project going smoothly we will resume work on the Crusher.

Sheet metal pictures

We covered the doors with sheet metal. Here are the pictures:

Special thanks to Thornton Plumbing and Heating for helping us out!
I promised pictures. Here they are.
I’ll start with the pics from the door and window construction. Dave made frames for the 2 back doors as well as the sliding door. We insulated them, made windows and then covered them with sheet metal.

A tiny update

I haven’t written in a while. Not because there is nothing new to report but because I haven’t had time. We’ve been working 15 hour days on the truck nearly 7 days a week. We’ve made a lot of progress!! We made frames, insulated and made sheet metal covers for all 3 door (the 2 back doors and the sliding pocket door in the wall) . Those are all installed and look great. Pictures to come!!
Memories of a school bus
October 15, 2007 no comments
Before we bought the truck, we were proud owners of a 90 passenger 1976 Bluebird school bus. That was what we were originally intending to turn into our mobile office, but it wasn’t the most economical choice. Gas mileage was ridiculous. It was too big to park anywhere. It was old and needed some work. It just wasn’t the smarter option for us. We sold it and put the money into buying the Geek Crusher.
I was going through some of my pictures the other day and came across a bunch of pictures from when we had the bus. I thought i might as well post them here for fun.
